In Celebration of the International Youth Day!
Every year on August 12, the world celebrates International Youth Day. The day was adopted by the UN General Assembly to promote better awareness of the ‘World Programme of Action for Youth to the Year 2000 and Beyond’ – the major international policy document on young people and their role in society. A major focus of the day is to promote practical action to further encourage the empowerment and participation of youth in the processes and decisions that affect their lives. All around the world, performances, public discussions and information campaigns are being organized in support of youth and issues that concern them.
