MANILA, Jan. 6 – The National Youth Commission (NYC) manifested its commitment to continuously upscale its services for the benefit of the Filipino Youth. NYC Commissioner James Ventura read the NYC Statement on the Launching of the Youth Policy Toolbox in the Philippines as part of the National Local Youth Development Officers’ (LYDO) Summit held at Selah Hotel, Pasay City.
With the partnership established between the NYC and the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP), the launching of the youth policy toolbox with LYDOs will encourage them to engage in continuous learning, especially on youth policy making, in order to serve the youth sector better.
The youth policy toolbox is an online platform where the young people can access relevant information on best practices, current trends, advocacies and how to’s on youth development. It also provides a menu of basic youth services that may be applied or replicated in various local government units (LGUs).
“We are optimistic that this collaborative endeavour between NYC and UNESCAP will progress into more tangible outcomes that will further create opportunities for the youth’s advancement,” Ventura said.
The youth policy toolbox is a key in attaining a better and sustainable future for the next generation.
“Our gratitude to the men and women involved in the creation of this toolbox. This will inspire and motivate young people to explore possibilities for a better quality of life. Thank you, UNESCAP,” Ventura ended. (NYC)
